About Us

Nicole Taylor owns and operates bluebasil, a specialist catering company providing catering solutions for parties, weddings and businesses from her base in Chipping Norton, West Oxfordshire.

"Growing up in an Australian farming community, I was inspired to cook real food that was home reared by my grandfather and father. I grew up catching yabbies in a dam on the farm and watching my grandmother boil them until just coral pink - delicious!

We had free-range lamb & beef from our own farm plus an extensive vegetable garden & fruit trees in the back garden. Nearly all of our food was homemade from scratch. Summers were spent picking peas, pulling carrots and climbing cherry, plum & mulberry trees. The next few weeks were then spent bottling, stewing, preserving and pickling. I've grown a huge appreciation for real food and food as fresh as it can possibly be".

Nicole has catered privately for over ten years. This includes parties, christenings and weddings. Her first business venture was setting up a dining & tableware display and gift service before being tempted to London to experience the corporate sector. She managed the hospitality team for a leading marketing & innovation company in central London. This included in-house corporate catering from lavish breakfasts, lunches & afternoon teas to cocktail parties. She also catered away for residential corporate learning courses.

Her early career has included cooking on a remote cattle station in the Australian outback and running private ski chalets in Canada & America. Hospitality Management has taken her in recent years to the Swiss Alps of Verbier & Zermatt.

Now happily settled back in Oxfordshire, England, she has launched bluebasil after lots of success with private catering.

Our Staff

Our catering team contributes to all parts of our business from cooking, shopping, delivery and service. We also have part-time service staff and chefs who join the team for events and parties. Our staff all fully understand our work ethics and how important it is to provide a really friendly and smiling, but above all, professional and discreet service for our events. We all love the work that we do and insist that fun is part of every day.
