We won't sacrifice our ethics for price and hope you will find our quality is what you are looking for. We don't search for the cheapest ingredients - we search for the best. You are looking for quality and we've carefully sourced & selected our producers to give you true value. This helps us in our mission to avoid using artificial flavours, additives and GM foods. We are constantly exploring and looking for new and fantastic ingredients. Wherever possible, we support farmers and producers in our local Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire areas.
Meat & poultry
Our meat & poultry is all locally reared at nearby Oxfordshire farms. Animal welfare is important to us, so we ensure that we only buy 'happy' meat that has been raised as naturally as possible in the great outdoors and never intensively reared.
Meat from Foxbury Farm, Brize Norton, Oxfordshire
We choose to buy our meat from farmers who have an excellent attitude to animal welfare and who rear free-range meat. We think that you deserve to eat only the best meat that can be produced - why would you want to settle for less? We buy our beef (suckler-heard), lamb and Gloucester Old Spot pork, and some of our free-range chicken & game from Foxbury Farm in Oxfordshire. Chickens, ducks & eggs from Willowbrook Farm, Hampton Gay, Oxfordshire
When our clients request organic chicken or duck, one of our choices is Willowbrook Farm. The local Oxfordshire family-run farm is set within the environmentally friendly Cherwell Valley flood plain. The farm is run organically and they are proud of their high animal welfare standards. Willowbrook produce Assaso chickens and develop them slowly over a 14 week period. Matthews is an independent, family-owned Oxfordshire business established in the 1860's. They are local to bluebasil's base in Chipping Norton, and are specialist millers of high quality flours.
Dairy
Most of our dairy is purchased from Upper Norton Creamery in Church Hanborough, Oxfordshire
Pure Jersey milk arrives at the creamery from a variety of farm-assured farms milking pure Jersey cows.
Fruit & vegetables
We choose UK-grown produce whenever possible. We also make an effort to keep it seasonal. We source lots of our fruit and vegetables from Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire farms, farm shops and local farmers' markets, and also through a local wholesaler in Bicester.
Dry goods
Most of our produce comes directly from a supplier who offers organic and Fairtrade produce.
Fish & seafood
We source these from different suppliers who offer produce that is organic, wild or from farms which are reputable for not mass producing.
